I had a pennyplainknits today! I did my best to incept her into Teen Wolf. For those of us (cough dodificus cough) who are "still living through the period of confusion prior to the inevitability of falling in love with Stiles" (see primer!), here are my recommendations for what newbies should be forced to watch/read (all spoilery):

Teen Wolf 101 primer by Hello Tailor: "My life was empty and barren, a tragic wasteland wherein I laboured under the assumption that Teen Wolf was a mediocre MTV show populated by a cast of bad actors with great hair. The real honest true truth is that every actor in Teen Wolf has brilliant comic timing (in addition to, yes, great hair), and one of the main characters is played by a guy who, despite having zero previous acting experience, is so talented his that his very presence onscreen is like an icecream scoop directly out of my heart. "

Teen Wolf: Disney Crack edition vid by Asreeshadowskeeper which is fabulous until the very last scene when it becomes epically apt and amazing.

The Teen Wolf Series one gag reel The whole cast is completely adorable. I normally cringe at anything to do with the actors who play the characters in my favourite shows, but these guys are too cute and I am a little bit in love with their little troupe.

Call Me Maybe vid by asreeshadowskeeper - A vid containing a lot of the slashy parts of series one. I'm a big Stiles/Derek fan, but I've got to admit that pretty much all of the guys in this show have slashy moments with pretty much everyone else. IT IS THAT KIND OF SHOW.

A vid by Kreugan which basically takes the piss out of series one, and is adorable. There is a lurking montage! <3

I've linked this before, but this is the beginning of the scene which takes the credit blame for me transitioning from having TW on in the background while I did other things to me desperately refreshing my torrents to see if Monday has miraculously happened while I wasn't looking. 1x09




In other news, I find the exclamations in all of my Twitter notifications really obnoxious. Someone replied to your tweet!!!! Someone mentioned you!!! Man, Twitter is so affection-starved.

Yes to this! Basically, I want to see Derek having to accept help for what he sees as his responsibilities. Whether that's Stiles helping with Scott, or Stiles and Scott helping with Isaac... I want him to in a place where he can accept support, but I just feel like he'd believe it was showing too much vulnerability. So, yes, he would be so mad! But it would do him so much good.

Dodificus mentioned this morning that she wanted to read more Peter/Stiles fic, and I'm kinda struggling to get my head around it ever being believable. But, while I was contemplating that, I realised that I CAN actually see Derek/Peter. Because, Peter's more powerful, Peter knows Derek and Derek's world well, and I can't imagine that Derek doesn't have times when he wants to just submit and let someone else take care of everything. Does the sanity of knowing that Peter is bonkers always override how out of his depth he is, the loneliness? It would be SO DARK though.

Man, both super dark and super believable, because yes on all points. And Peter might be bonkers, but he has vision and makes plans that don't go completely to shit immediately and he, you know, isn't sixteen years old, which god, I can only imagine how Derek longs for the company of ANYONE who is not sixteen. I love our heroes to death but I bet that gets insufferable sometimes.

I mean I tend not to ship intergenerational relative ships but this one I think Derek would just, like, put his head on Peter's shoulder and be like WE TALKED ABOUT HAIR PRODUCTS FOR FIVE HOURS. HOW IS THIS MY LIFE. And Peter would be like shh, shh, soon the world will be ours and you won't have to do that ever again.

Ha! Oh, poor Derek. And Peter would totally relate, after the username: Allison; password: Allison debacle. I bet they wish they could drink.

I think Derek would just, like, put his head on Peter's shoulder and be like WE TALKED ABOUT HAIR PRODUCTS FOR FIVE HOURS. HOW IS THIS MY LIFE. And Peter would be like shh, shh, soon the world will be ours and you won't have to do that ever again.

This is a side of the ship I didn't see before but NOW I WANT IT SO BAD:DD

I could just kind of see Derek sort of being the Drusilla of a Spike/Drusilla villain pairing, except with less disassociative rambling and more complaining.

Slight delay due to Olympics awesomeness - synchronised high dive! So so cool!

I actually think that if I was casting these guys as Buffy characters, then Peter would be the creepy, dissociative one who talked through dolls; Derek would be the brooding, angst-ridden, occasionally violent Angel; and Stiles would be the one trying to keep the craziness under the radar, wishing he didn't love them both so much, and saying, 'You can't see the stars, love. That's the ceiling. Also, it's day.'

Haha true. But I can't help but think that Derek would be good at being the pretty thing on a mastermind's arm if he had the right mastermind.

Synchronised high dive was so cool but then like 50% of my country's mens' gymnastics team cried. Poor gymnasts! It is okay! You are still better at gymnastics than everyone else in the world who didn't go to the Olympics!

And spoiler blackout until I can watch the episode tomorrow morning starts... now.
