tacit: (torchwood together again)

So I spent the day reading Torchwood fic. I listened to a Torchwood audiobook while walking Dex. On the radio on the way home from the park, they played a snippet of an interview with John Barrowman. Come late afternoon, I thought enough was enough and I decided to cook. Yesterday, I bought a huge bag of bananas for thirty English pennies, so I googled banana bread. The first recipe to pop up looked good, so I made it (yum!) and then I noticed that whose recipe is it? John blimmin Barrowman's.

Then I made a chicken pie to provide actual sustenance before I pigged out on banana bread, and stuck on some music so I could dance around in the kitchen. And I spent the entire time plotting Torchwood vids I will never make, to Queen. Seriously, they're cracky, they're gay, everything is (understandably) life and death, and they have lyrics about: being champions of the world (I'm interpreting that in an Angel/BtVS way); not wanting to live forever; 'I love you! (But we only have 14 hours to save the Earth)'; precision with time; imminent death; insatiable appetites; and even the occasional orgasmic groan.

And ok, I'm fine with the universe at large contributing to my current obsession, and my subconscious is clearly on board. But if I dream about Torchwood tonight, can it be something exciting? Last night I dreamt about cleaning grout, so an improvement on that would be nice.

Banana bread! It came out good? And hey, what kind of pan did you use -- a regular bread pan?

::thinks about going to the store and getting bananas now mmmm::

It's a bit of a misnomer - it's really cake. But it is goooood! I've had two huge slices already this evening and am eating my third as I type. The recipe says to use a loaf tin, which I thought I owned... but it turns out I do not. So I used a big round casserole dish and cooked it for longer.

If you do go and buy bananas for one, make sure they're squishy already. New, yellow bananas wouldn't be quite the same.

OM NOM NOM.

I am baking this right now, hee! I hope it comes out good, I had a moment of O.O over the oz/floz measurements. We 'Mericans, we don't like anything that ain't 'cup'.

How did it turn out? We're still working on eating ours, and I'm going to have to start exporting slices soon, cos I picked a ton of blackberries in the park today and want to make crumble.

Yum, fruit in dessert. ♥

Man, the cup thing bewilders me. And, I have no idea how a big a cup to use, so I usually just click out of the recipe and find one I understand. I'd say I felt your pain, except that our units of measurement MAKE PERFECT SENSE and yours DO NOT.

I'm having a hard time reading TW fics and such. I only got through day 3 and can't make myself watch the rest. I miss my cracky show. :(

I didn't see this comment! Suck.

I miss my cracky show, too. :( I'm trying to convince myself that if I just read enough pre CoE fic then I will forget that series 3 even existed, and I can go back to the place where everyone's fine. Including Owen and Tosh. And Myfanwy and Janet. And popsicle Grey.
