SCC 2.22

It's been a while since I last literally gaped at the screen. Jaw open, eyes wide, brain on a loop going 'Oh my god. WHAT. No way! OH MY GOD.'

If The Sarah Connor Chronicles isn't renewed, I might melodramatically DIE.

YES! Exactly!
Want. More.
NEED more!

PS: I think I need to watch it again to write a coherent comment. "Will you join us?" Meep!

It's completely bizarre, but the more I think about it, the more sense it starts to make. I think I've spent too much time watching the Lost-type shows, where you think about it too hard and it all collapses in on itself. SCC is so clever - I think it actually all works, and it was so far out of left field I would never have guessed they'd do it. THEY WIN.

I think: That John just got leapt forward to the beginning of the resistance, before he and Kyle go to Century Workcamp. I'm not entirely sure why it makes more sense to have him leap forward than the live through - is Weaver actually evil? Did she sneak off because she was worried they'd catch her out as Metal, or because of some nefarious purpose? But in any case, now John can inject some new energy and ideas into the bedraggled resistance, and build them up into something with purpose. And it suits the messiah-esque way everyone's always referred to him - he just appeared out of nowhere, that's pretty godlike! IT WAS ALWAYS THIS WAY!

And the production gaffe where they said that Derek has celebrated John's 30th, when they meant for it to say 40th? It makes sense now! Maybe it wasn't a gaffe? Maybe they just didn't want to tell us the ending! *bounces*

I blame [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon for me going analytical - she's infectious because she's so right.

p.s. I hope that the exchange of chocolate is a part of the German easter! OM NOM NOM.

I am eating said chocolote right now. You too, I hope! *g*

Okay, SCC.
There's two ways the plot can go now: (a) This is how it's supposed to work out, meaning that they get to know him now, and he ascends through the ranks until he's leading the whole resistance. (Possible, since we don't know just how far into the future he jumped. Although, Derek's age gives a rough time frame. He looks, well, about the same age he was when he went back into the past [Duh!] so actually possibility (a) doesn't seem likely to me. On the other hand, the birthday thing-- This would explain the brithday thing nicely. Plus, if the show really did end, this would be the interpretation of choice.)
Option (b): John needs to find a way to get back, so that everything can play out the way it's supposed to. Which seems like the more likely way to go to me. With interesting plot developments regarding Cameron, and Weaver and John Henry, of course.
(I'm sure there's a bunch of other options that my narrow mind doesn't see, but well... These are the two general choices.)

What completely puzzles me... Why didn't Sarah go with John? This show is *her* show. What's she going to do, now that John is gone? Okay, she'll continue the fight against skynet, of course. Because the show is not going to be only about John in the future, it can't be. It's *Sarah's* show. By title, even. (On that note, again: Please show, you MUST continue! I'm not above begging here.)

I just got back from a great lunch with Claire's family - the oldies were on form! &hearts I have eaten way too much chocolate *Rolls like beached whale*

I totally agree re: the two options. I was very option b at first, and I think it follows on more obviously from what we've been seeing. And, you know, Sarah! She needs to be with John. :( But I do have a fondness for the idea of option a. It would suck so much for John, and rock so much for humanity. I want to watch that! Failing that, I want to read it in a long, juicy fic.

What completely puzzles me... Why didn't Sarah go with John? This show is *her* show. What's she going to do, now that John is gone?

I was wondering that. The goodbye? SO SAD. If John is stuck in the future - with Weaver - then who's going to look after poor orphaned Savannah?! Maybe Sarah can have a new protege? And Ellison can be the muscle/ethics? I mostly hate that idea, though. It wouldn't be the same without Cameron or another Terminator in the past.

I haven't been this obsessed with a season finale in... ages. Firefly? Buffy, when she sent Angel to hell? It's been a while!
