Well, and I also assumed that any given pack of werewolves that's big enough to live in a giant compound/mansion and have multiple families with children is more akin to a people (in the anthropological sense - a tribe). So there might be other werewolf peoples out there somewhere, and Derek might be happy that his entire group of humans isn't dead, but he's still the only remaining branch of that people! OH DEREK.
I just - I want Scott and Stiles to get custody of Isaac. I do. I think Scott's doofy earnestness could win Isaac's trust, and I honestly think that while Derek might be mad about it at first, it might eventually lead to Derek being able to trust Scott (and then Stiles, since I do want to see Team Sterek have their day, I just think it requires some groundwork from where we are right now).
