Ooooh, interesting idea, that Erica and Isaac are two parts of his id; it would explain why he's so douchey in such an odd way with them - seducing Erica even though he doesn't want her sexually, and beating on Isaac (breaking his arm for no good reason) when he doesn't treat other people that way, except to emptily threaten them. It's practically subconscious self-harm.
I think you're right that a lot of his self-image is tied up in being 'bad'. Maybe he thinks that if he embodies 'bad' then nobody will be able to get close? Maybe it makes him feel safer? Because, in a lot of ways he seems more kid-like than the others, particularly Stiles. He's really lacking in emotional maturity, and quite fixated on only showing a small range of emotions. He obviously HAS those other emotions, as shown when he's with coma!Peter, and when Kate tortures him. I think the softer emotions really freak him out though, after what Kate did to him when he was younger, and how she used his vulnerability. So he represses them in favour of this grumpy growly front. He probably doesn't even think it's a front - I don't think he's particularly self-aware.
He's like an abused puppy and I just want Stiles and the Sheriff to adopt him.
