The moral of the story is that your little Dex is a brat, and should learn not to eat everything he can get his teeth on! You said he also ate your mail? Does he snack on furniture, too?
How frustrating to know the situation was much more pressing than the vet made it out to be... But he's there now, and all raisin-free, and we're all hoping for the best. *hugs*
