Questions for the mighty flist

1) Ok, [personal profile] unadrift    and I have been debating this and the dictionary is no help. Is it: racking one's brains; wracking one's brains, or (::squints::) wrecking one's brains? How do I not know?!  ETA:  It's racking. Thanks [profile] sapote3  !

2) Also, into what position do I need to contort myself to get my left hip to click? It clicked out the other day, and now I have an irritating array of painful limitations, like not being able to lie on my back with my knees tented, or slouch on the sofa with my feet on the table in front of me. Or, I can slouch that way, but only if I don't mind sharp, grindy pain through the back of the joint when I get up again. I am not impressed. Fix me! ::pouts::

3) And, for reasons having nothing to do with any stories I am currently writing, particularly not anything that was supposed to be, like, 1000 words but might already be disturbingly longer... in a team!orgy, who would be the ultimate boss? I'm leaning towards Ronon, but, Teyla? Or does Rodney have secret sexual power over them all? Does John bring his dubious natural leadership into the bedroom?

4) Button then zipper, or zipper then button?

I always assumed it meant to shake the contents of your brain vigorously from side to side, which correlates better with wrack, "to be tossed by the sea". But Merriam-Webster disagrees!

rack (4) transitive verb: 3 a: to stretch or strain violently [racked his brains]

So there you have it.

Button zip.

About #3, I think that any one of them could be the ultimate boss, depending on what you're going for.

You've already got the racking answer...

For 2) I would suggest going to see a professional at hip-clicking. It might just click back into place again, but it might also get worse, and start sharing the pain around the rest of your back, which would be a Bad Thing. (Speaking from experience here!)

3) I'm sorry, there's no way I can see Teyla as anything but the boss of ALL of them. XD Including Ronon. Ronon is her puppy. Rodney might be getting his way too, if only because it's the only way to make him shut up. (Maybe if the others were in a mood to humor him, Sheppard could do a little leading, but... heh. Well. Sheppard's team and his leadership. They do whatever they feel like, and if he's lucky, it coincides with what he's trying to lead them to do!)

4) Zip, then button. No, wait! Button, then zip. ...no... hey. Is this a trick question? XD
